Initially other users can only see your name, and overlapping % & distance with your route. Once you decide to share a ride with another member after going through the ‘meet & confirm’ process, other members will have access to your phone number, origin and destination addresses.
What is a route? Can I set-up more than one route?
Route consists of a starting and ending address. For example ‘Home to College’ or ‘Home to a stadium’ or ‘one city to another’. Yes, a member can setup up multiple routes.
What does ‘overlap miles’ and ‘extra drive’ mean?
Overlap Miles: number of miles (or km) of a route common to another user Extra Drive: number of additional miles (or km) a user needs to drive to pick up and drop off a rider. You should look to share rides with least the extra drive and maximum overlap matches.
What is the purpose of a circle? How do you create a circle based on a route?
Circle represents a group of users with whom you can share rides. miles2share suggests matches based on overlapping route. You can invite them to share rides using the 'Meet and Confirm' process and add them to your circle to share ride

How do I screen member matches before ‘adding to my circle’?
Always use your discretion before meeting in person. Consider using emails and phone conversations to screen matches and when comfortable schedule a meeting in public places e.g. book store, cafes, food court of a local mall etc. before deciding to share rides. You could also consider seeing their driver’s license as an additional precaution.
How do I pick the best match to share rides with?
Numerically best match is one with the least extra drive and maximum route overlap. But your personal screening of matches may trump the numbers.
What is the definition of ‘perfect overlap’, ‘superset’ and ‘subset’ routes?
Perfect Overlap: Members’ routes are perfectly aligned and any one of them can be a driver or rider. Superset and Subset: : Algorithm may find that two members’ route has good overlap but one member route is longer than other member route. In this case member with longer route will be ‘superset’ and member with shorter route will be ‘subset’. The member with shorter route can only be a rider.
What if I do not see any matches to create a circle?
This may be because there is no other user taking the same route. Please note that as new members sign up and if there is a match, we will notify you.
How do I schedule rides?
Set up your schedule with leaving and returning time, driving preferences and feel free to schedule a ride if you see other member is open for the same time and day

Can I cancel a scheduled ride, if yes, how?
You can simply go to your schedule or shared rides and cancel the dates you do not want share ride. We will appreciate if you can please call other member and notify cancellation of shared rides. We advise not to cancel a 'scheduled ride’ within 2 hours of scheduled time as this may adversely affect your rating and cause unnecessary inconvenience to your ride sharing partner.
What if the ‘driver’ for a route does not show up or is running late?
It is possible that due to some unforeseen reason a user may not be able to come. Please consider the following options:

Set up your leaving and returning time for one day or multiple days you want to share ride or tap on members on your circle who has already setup its schedule and open to share.
Can I share different legs of the trip with different members?
Yes, you can pick different users for outbound and inbound trip.

What precautions does miles2share take to ensure member safety?
Our goal is to build a safe and growing ridesharing community, but we rely solely on your discretion and communication of your experience.
What does miles2share do if it learns that a member is unsafe or acted inappropriately?
If miles2share learns a member may be unsafe or has acted inappropriately, we immediately suspend the member account and notify any other members in contact with this member of the account suspension. Your safety is our first priority.
What should I do if I find negative information after doing my own search?
Please contact our customer service if you uncover any suspicious or inappropriate information, so we can take the necessary actions. These may include suspending or terminating the user account and notifying other members in contact with this member of the account suspension or termination.
